Description
It's been a while since my last post. Since then I changed camera, hence the gap of posting (time to learn the new camera) But as soon as I started to get the results I wanted...puff she broke! And I had to send her back to canon for repairs! But now she is back! And to celebrate that I bought a ring flash!Regarding my activity... well it's going to be back at as it was! The last few months were very busy! (I'm co-author in 4 scientific books!)
Here is the first result of my inversor ring and my ring flash!
This is a very small jumper spider (about 3mm). I just loved the colours and the flash on her eyes...
Tech.
Camera: Canon 40D
Lens: 18-55mm + Inversion ring
Mode: Shutter Priority
ISO: 100
F: 13
Shutter: 1/125
Focus: Manual! (oh yeah baby! It's the only way with the inversion rings!
Edits: Almost nothing, just a little contrast.
Please drop a line or two!

I find it amazing how you can get such a small spider looks so detailed!
What is that surface by the way? It looks like snow....

@monjo: When you use an inversion ring the f values don't work quite as you expected! With the lens mounted backwards the DOF is slim to none! f13 with the lens mounted normally and f13 with the lens mounted backwards is way different! This was one of my first experiences with the inversion ring and the ring flash, now I know I can push the f a bit more to 16/18, but that will only give a tinny little bit more DOF. It's a cheap solution to make some cool macro shots(10€), but it has it's downsides like the limited DOF.
